This report looks at ways of improving the judicial response to domestic violence and increasing the consistency of judicial practice in domestic violence cases in Bosnia and Herzegovina. It provides recommendations for dealing with factors that aggravate domestic violence, as well as factors defendants might use to try to justify or exempt their alleged behavior. It also examines court actions pertaining to the victim and provides recommendations for the prosecutor’s office on how to prepare for cases of domestic violence.
