This monograph focuses on 1) the roles America's allies and partners continue to play in its national security, and 2) and what are the best ways for Washington to leverage these contributions in the pursuit of everyone's common interests. More specifically, the text’s three chapters focus on the roles US allies are playing, and might play, in Washington's strategic pivot towards the Asia-Pacific region; the parts played by US-hosted military educational exchange programs, particularly in promoting peace and stability worldwide; and the strategic coherence, or not, of US land force deployments in Europe.
