This paper focuses on the role South-South cooperation plays in supporting peacebuilding activities in conflict-affected countries. Because there are tangible benefits to this specific type of collaboration, the text concludes that the UN Department of Political Affairs (DPA) and other institutional stakeholders should develop a strategic framework to facilitate further South–South cooperation on peace and security activities.
