This brief examines how the improvement in Turkish-Iranian relations could affect energy supplies and pricing in the Middle East as well as the EU's efforts to diversify its natural gas supply. The authors also look at the effect this rapprochement could have on neighboring countries such as Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan as well as Chinese influence in the Middle East as it attempts to ensure its energy security.
