This book presents the results of the 2013 Global and European Presence Indices study, which measures the positioning of countries outside their own borders (at a global and European level, respectively), and is calculated on the basis of economic, military and soft power dimensions. The book explains the indices’ relevance and methodology, discusses the relationship between presence and power, presents the country rankings for 2013, and provides expectations of how these might change in the future.
