This brief discusses the human rights situation of indigenous peoples in Canada since the country endorsed the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (UNDRIP) in 2010. The authors specifically focus on human rights concerns expressed by the United Nations Special Rapporteur on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (UNSRRIP) during his visit to the country in October 2013. They also provide recommendations on what can be done to improve the human rights situation of indigenous peoples in Canada.
