This brief discusses the problem of youth unemployment in the EU and EU-level policy initiatives that could possibly deal with the issue. The author first comments on the dimensions and repercussions of youth unemployment in the EU in general and in Poland in particular. He then discusses the roles the European Parliament and the European Commission are likely to play in tackling the issue and how these will be impacted by the May 2014 European Parliament elections.
