Specific topics include the Slovak experience with the euro and the factors behind Poland, the Czech Republic and Hungary’s position on the euro; the influence of foreign direct investment in regional imbalances in Central and Eastern Europe; the impact of monetary integration on trade within the euro area; and Greece’s role in triggering the eurozone crisis.
