The melting Arctic ice cap will provide economic opportunities for Canada's Northwest Territories, but as this brief reminds us, the region’s maritime transport and infrastructure is far from what it needs to be. That's why cooperating with the United States on Arctic economic development should be a top priority for Ottawa, along with other needed policy adjustments.
