This paper discusses prospects for an Association Agreement between the EU and the three microstates Andorra, Monaco, and San Marino. In doing so, the authors outline how the integration of these states into the EU could serve as an example for the handling of candidates for independence, such as Scotland, and integration-opposed states, such as Switzerland.
