This volume includes a collection of articles which discuss the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) and whether its position in the nuclear nonproliferation regime is at risk. They are divided into five sections which include 1) the history of the NPT as well as assessments of its position in the world today; 2) the future of the NPT; 3) global trends in proliferation and nonproliferation; 4) the verification mechanism for ensuring that states uphold their nonproliferation commitments; and 5) the nonproliferation situation in the Middle East.
