This paper assesses the situation of Syria’s Christians and states that although they initially supported the uprisings against the Assad regime they have now turned their backs on the rebel groups. The author explains that the Christians are worried by the militarization and radicalization of the revolution, and that the opposition has not shown itself to be a credible alternative to the regime. She then contends that the international community should continue working towards a political solution and not support any particular ethnic or religious group as part of any initiative to find peace.
