This brief gives an overview of US, European and Ukrainian efforts to alleviate the political crisis in Ukraine in 2014. The author explains how the EU and the US have engaged in diplomatic efforts to solve the crisis, as well as how Ukrainian president Poroshenko plans to stabilize and preserve the country’s unity. The author closes by stressing the importance of EU and US uniformity in keeping a firm line on Russia.
