This paper takes a close look at Nordic Defense Cooperation, also known as NORDEFCO. It examines 1) the nature and substance of NORDEFCO, and how it has evolved over time; 2) its benefits and shortfalls, both now and in the future; and 3) whether it represents a regional complement or alternative to NATO.
