This brief examines some of the security challenges facing NATO, as well as how the Alliance could respond to them. The author contends that despite increasing concerns over Russia’s annexation of the Crimean Peninsula, NATO should remain attentive to developments in the Middle East. He also briefly mentions some of the issues regarding NATO policy which, in his opinion, must be debated between member states at the Wales Summit in September 2014.
