This bulletin looks at the Association Agreement (AA) signed between Moldova and the European Union in June 2014 and the likelihood of it being implemented. The author argues that implementation will depend on 1) pressure on Moldova from Russia; 2) which parties are elected in Moldova's parliamentary elections in November 2014; and 3) the extent to which Moldova actually complies with the provisions of the AA. The author then makes some suggestions as to how the EU could help Moldova circumvent these possible obstacles.
