In light of the resounding victory of Narendra Modi and his Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in India's 2014 elections, this paper analyzes the factors that explain BJP’s success and how Indian politics will be affected by the dominance of a single party. The author also examines Modi's foreign policy priorities, and the challenges the new government faces.
