This issue reviews key bilateral relationships in East Asia, as well as relations between countries in this region and the US, from January to April 2014. The articles focus on economic, political and security developments and are accompanied by a chronology of significant events occurring between the states in question during the four-month period covered. By providing interpretative analyses, as well as factual accounts of key events, the issue illuminates patterns in Asian bilateral relations and defines the impact bilateral relationships have on one another and on regional security.
