This note discusses the political and security situation in Somalia since the country's presidential elections in 2012. In particular, the author assesses the impact President Mohamud’s administration has had on the fight against political corruption and nepotism in the country, and discusses developments in the government's military offensive against the al-Shahaab terrorist group.
