This commentary discusses Ukraine's energy dependence on Russia. The author argues that Ukraine can take the initiative to move out of Russia's shadow by consistently implementing their nuclear energy strategy and strengthening relations with Western partners. She maintains that supporting Ukraine in its development of nuclear energy would also benefit European and Polish energy security.
