This paper discusses the US rebalance to Asia and argues that it really amounts to a continuation of established US policy, something that the author thinks is not enough to maintain US dominance in the region. The author also offers a number of policy recommendations for the US on how it can improve its approach towards Asia, including the point that Washington must be willing to demonstrate its leadership in the region, for example by making it clear to actors such as North Korea that behavior which runs counter to regional stability has consequences.
