This commentary provides an update on the political situation in Jordan, including the political reforms that the government initiated in 2012. The reforms continue to lag because 1) they don't reflect the priorities of the country's political class or its people, and 2) the public's continuing outrage over corruption, unemployment, and intra-government squabbling has triggered a new round of instability. As before, what Jordan truly needs are genuine constitutional and economic reforms.
