This is a transcript of an interview with Gabrielle Hecht, Professor of History at the University of Michigan, in which she discusses her analysis of the role nuclear power and technology has played in informing politics and international relations. In the course of her discussion, she addresses her examination of how technological systems can affect the conception of what constitutes a political decision; what it means to be a nuclear country and what this means for our understanding of the Cold War; as well as what her field, science and technology studies can bring to the study of international relations.
