This brief assesses Albania’s potential to become more involved in civilian peace support operations abroad. After outlining both the advantages and the challenges for Albania, the author argues that the Albanian Government should take concrete steps to increase the capabilities already in place to support civilian missions abroad (especially in Kosovo). However, due to the country’s limited resources, he also contends that Albania will need support from third party countries.
