2014

This report analyzes the Serbian legislature's 2014 provisions to modify and supplement the country's Law on Defence and the Law on the Serbian Armed Forces. The authors identify some positive moves in the provisions - including the suggested strengthening of the role of the Defence Inspectorate - as well as some missed opportunities - such as the chance to effectively regulate the rights of defense sector unions and the relationship between the military and civil society. They also provide recommendations for Serbia's legislature on how to improve the country's law that applies to defense and the armed forces in the future.
