This paper looks at how Sharia law affects governance and justice in the countries in which it is used. More specifically, the author examines 1) what Sharia law actually is and how principles of equality and punishment work under Sharia; 3) how Sharia law differs from and can be used alongside secular approaches to law; and 4) how modern economies fare under Sharia law.
