This brief reviews the post-2015 development goals proposed by the African Union in 2014. Following a critical comparison of these goals to development goals developed by the UN and other organizations, the author suggests African negotiators focus on goals relating to diversification and industrialization, the services sector, desertification, domestic resource mobilization and innovative financing.
