This paper assesses the political situation in Egypt following the country's 2011 revolution. The author first discusses the most important demands of the Egyptian revolution: social justice, freedom and human dignity. He then examines the main actors of the post-revolution period, including the state institutions (including the armed forces and the judiciary), the opposition under Mubarak's regime (including the Muslim Brotherhood and secular political parties), and new actors who emerged following the revolution. Finally, he looks at how these different actors responded to the demands made during the revolution.
