This paper provides an overview of the Palestinian movement, Hamas. More specifically, the author examines 1) the movement's origins; 2) its leadership; 3) the way it is funded; 4) its record as a governing body; and 5) its consolidation of power in Gaza and conflict with Israel since 2005.
