Publication

This paper discusses how local and Korean communities in the US are commemorating the suffering of the women who endured sexual slavery under Imperial Japanese armed forces during WWII. The author also looks at how these communities could make a real difference in promoting understanding on the difficult issue of comfort women by collaborating with their counterparts in South Korea and Japan and by placing the issue in the context of human rights, women’s rights and human trafficking.
