This article examines the relations between Japan and South Korea as well as the prospects for increased cooperation between the two countries. The author first outlines how ties between the two countries have soured during the tenure of Prime Minister Shinzo Abe in Japan and President Park Geun-hye in South Korea. He then outlines a number of areas in which both countries could increase their levels of cooperation and the reasons why it is in both their interests to do so.
