This commentary examines the business environment in China for foreign companies. The author argues that overall, the benefits for some foreign companies operating in China are starting to be outweighed by the costs caused by such factors as corruption and negative media campaigns. Indeed, he suggests that some investors are already leaving and recommends that China should work to establish a business environment based on fair competition so as not to loose the potential benefits that foreign companies and investment can provide.
