This report discusses trade and economic relations between the US and Vietnam and their relevance for the 113th US Congress. More specifically, the author examines 1) Vietnam's desire to be accepted to the US General System of Preferences (GSP) program; 2) its participation in negotiations over a bilateral investment treaty (BIT) with the US; and 3) its interest in the Trans-Pacific Strategic Economic Partnership Agreement (TPP).
