This paper investigates new and concrete ways to rebuild societies, infrastructure and institutions in the aftermath of conflicts. More specifically, it examines whether greater coherence and coordination is necessarily the answer for more effective and sustainable peacebuilding initiatives. The authors further discuss the meaning of 'coherence' within the peacebuilding context and examine various challenges hampering the achievement of coherence and coordination in peacebuilding initiatives.
