In light of Russia's involvement in the 2014 Ukraine crisis, this paper discusses Poland's perception of its own energy security. The author observes that investments in renewable energy production and nuclear power capacity are gaining importance in Poland. He also notes that Polish public opinion generally supports the construction of the first nuclear power plant in Poland, though this opinion differs somewhat between the mostly nuclear-enthusiastic east and the much more skeptical western regions of the country.
