This paper discusses the economic impact of the fish export industry on the national economy of Uganda. The author details the importance of maintaining international food safety standards and implementing scientific laboratory tests in order to maintain the credibility of Uganda as a safe source of fish. The paper details the innovative public-private partnership behind the establishment of the food safety system in the Ugandan fish industry.
