This paper discusses the establishment of the Network for Indigenous Peoples, Gender and Natural Resource Management (IGNARM) by several Danish organizations. The author explains that the network aims is to improve one's understanding of how indigenous gender relations and natural resource use may influence and depend upon each other. The author also details how the management of natural resources and indigenous peoples' aspirations for development can be integrated and made more sustainable by including the knowledge, expertise, needs, priorities, and active participation of indigenous men and women.
