This paper focuses on the ethnic armed groups operating in Myanmar and their grievances, the national ceasefire agreement that many of them are close to signing, and the next-step options the groups may or may not have in the agreement's wake. The last issue is an important one given that conventional Demobilization, Disarmament and Reintegration’ (DDR) programs will most likely not work in the country.
