This paper evaluates the representation of Serbia's Albanian ethnic minority in the country's police force, with a particular focus on the southern Serbian municipalities of Preševo, Medvedja and Bujanovac. This authors find that although there has been an increase in Albanian minority representation among rank-and-file officers, ethnic Albanians remain highly underrepresented in security institutions in the country. They conclude with a set of recommendations for the Serbian government and local institutions on how to improve Albanian representation in the Serbian police force.
