This paper identifies the range of existing indicators that could be applied to the measurement of progress for goal 16 of the post-2015 UN development agenda, the aim of which is to promote peace, justice and effective institution building. The author also examines each of the 12 targets of goal 16 - which include reducing violence, strengthening institutions and increasing their inclusiveness and accountability.
