This paper highlights six factors that could shape Turkish-Russian cooperation in the future, particularly in the zone stretching from the South Caucasus region and Levant to Central Asia and Afghanistan. Some of the factors include regional instability in the broader Middle East, Iran’s nuclear program, Central Asia’s socio-economic development, etc. The paper then concludes by providing a set of recommendations on how Ankara and Moscow might support each other's interests more effectively in the near- to mid-term.
