This paper analyzes gender-based inequality and poverty in Uganda. The authors discuss the contributions of the Danish International Development Agency (DANIDA) to assure poverty reduction and improve gender equality in rural parts of Uganda. The paper details the social circumstances in the five districts of Kabarole, Masaka, Pallisa, Rakai and Tororo, and assesses the local impact of DANIDA asisstance in those regions.
