This reference text is designed to help African Arms Trade Treaty (ATT) representatives navigate the ratification and implementation process of the ATT, which is due to come into effect on December 24th 2014. It specifically 1) overviews relevant conventional arms control issues, and 2) provides clarifying analyses of those aspects of the ATT that are applicable to African states.
