This report provides an overview of a conference on trade controls of strategic goods, technologies, and materials for weapons of mass destruction (WMD). Among other issues, the discussions at the conference focused on 1) the implementation of UN Security Council Resolution 1540; 2) the role of control lists in managing the trade of strategic goods; 3) the role of regional organizations in the implementation of strategic trade controls; 4) the implementation of strategic trade controls in Asian free trade zones; 5) good practices in detection and enforcement of strategic trade controls; and 6) the economic impact of strategic trade controls.
