This note focuses on improvised explosive devices (IEDs) that are increasingly used by insurgents against government forces or civilians. By building on the Small Arms Survey’s earlier work, the author highlights counter-IED efforts and concludes that effective management of stockpiles will help reduce the amount of explosive material available for IEDs.
