This policy brief discusses the potential impact of South Africa and Zimbabwe's 2014-2015 chairmanship of the Southern African Development Community (SADC) as well as the key institutions of the group. In particular, the author 1) looks at South Africa and Zimbabwe's agenda for the SADC; 2) considers in what ways the institutions of the SADC have changed over time; 3) examines the likely impact of domestic developments and the foreign policies on South Africa and Zimbabwe on the agenda of the SADC and 4) offers recommendations on how both South Africa and Zimbabwe can improve the policy of the SADC.
