This paper provides an overview of Japan's nuclear weapons policy along and the stakeholders who are pushing for the country to change it. The authors find that although concerns about increased politicization of the nuclear issue are certainly justified, in practice the potential of the various stakeholders to politicize security policy is not as great as might have been anticipated.
