This monograph examines the ability of military land power to gain, sustain, and exploit control over territory, resources, and people in the 21st century. It also examines 1) how land power relates to other forms of military might and the elements that make up state power; 2) the strategic and operational versatility of land power; and 3) the advantages and disadvantages of using such a tool.
