This issue of the ISS Peace and Security Council (PSC) Report includes articles on 1) the intervention of the PSC in Burkina Faso following the ousting of president Compaoré in October 2014; and 2) discussions at the PSC in October 2014 on elections and how to minimize the risk of election-related violence in Africa. The issue also includes 1) an article on how the PSC should approach the problem of state fragility; 2) a review of the threat posed by the Ebola outbreak in West Africa to social and political stability in the region; and 2) an interview on the work and effectiveness of the PSC with Alain Aimé Nyamitwe, Ambassador of the Republic of Burundi to Ethiopia, Djibouti, Chad and South Sudan.
