In light of the withdrawal of US forces from Afghanistan in 2014, this paper discusses relations between Pakistan and Afghanistan. More specifically, it examines 1) how Afghanistan's political transition is affecting Pakistan; 2) the strategic and political implications for Pakistan of the withdrawal of US troops from Afghanistan at the end of 2014; 3) Pakistan´s own key post-2014 challenges domestically and in foreign policy terms; and 4) the impact of developments in the broader region on Pakistan.
